Privacy Policy
Last updated: 12 October 2026
ZAD is a free academic resource library for university students. This policy explains what information we collect when you use ZAD at zadshare.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We only collect what we need to run the library, and we never sell your data.
1. Information we collect
When you sign in with Google, we receive from Google:
- your email address,
- your name, and
- a unique account identifier.
We do not receive your Google password, and we do not access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data.
Information you give us while using ZAD:
- the public name you choose for comments (shown instead of your real name),
- whether to show your Google photo or just the first letter of your name,
- your choice about optional email updates, and when you made it,
- comments, questions and suggestions you post,
- ratings you give to resources (your individual rating is private; others only see the average),
- reports you file about a resource or comment, and
- feedback and ratings you give about ZAD.
Information created as you use ZAD:
- which resources you download, counted once per day so we can show download totals (the per-person record is deleted after one day; only the total is kept),
- short-lived usage counters that protect the service from abuse (deleted after one day),
- if your account is suspended, the date and the reason (shown to you), and
- technical logs kept by our hosting providers, such as IP address, browser type and error reports.
2. How we use it
- to sign you in and keep your account secure,
- to show your chosen public name next to your comments,
- to show resource ratings and download totals,
- to review reports and keep the library free of abuse, spam and infringing material,
- to understand whether ZAD is useful and improve it, and
- to prevent abuse through rate limits.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.
3. Who can see what
- Other students see only your chosen public name and the comments you post. Your email and real name are never shown publicly.
- ZAD administrators can see account details (name and email) and the content of reports and feedback, so they can moderate the library. Reports do not reveal who filed them to other students.
4. Service providers
We use trusted providers to run ZAD. They process data only on our behalf:
- Google: sign-in.
- Supabase: our database, account system and file storage. Data is stored in Seoul, South Korea.
- Vercel: hosting of the website.
Because of this, your information may be processed outside your country. These providers use industry-standard security.
5. Cookies
ZAD uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
We count page visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and does not identify you. It only tells us things like how many people opened a page and which country and device type they used.
6. Email updates
ZAD asks whether you would like optional emails about new study materials and features. Nothing is chosen for you, the library works the same either way, and you can change your answer any time on your account page. Every update email includes a way to unsubscribe. If you are not subscribed, we may remind you now and then (at most once a month after you say no); you can turn these reminders off. Account-related messages, such as security notices, are separate from these optional updates.
7. How long we keep data
We keep your account information and the content you post while your account is active. Download records and usage counters are deleted after one day. If you delete your account (or ask us to), we delete your personal information and the comments, ratings and feedback linked to it, except where we must keep something to deal with abuse or a legal request.
8. Your choices and rights
- You can change your public name, real name, photo and email choice at any time on your account page.
- You can delete your account yourself on your account page. This cannot be undone.
- You can delete your own comments.
- You can ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct it.
To make a request, email mohssin@zadshare.com from the email address you sign in with.
9. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Access to the database is restricted by strict permission rules, files are stored privately and served through short-lived links, and only administrators can manage the library. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
10. Children
ZAD is intended for university students and is not directed at children under 13.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app.
